Raymond Campbell, Born in Surrey in 1956 Raymond decided when he was just a boy that he wanted to be a Full Time Artist.
In his early days he turned down a chance of formal training at Art School and by the age of just 22 he became a full time professional artist. He developed his own style after travelling Europe and studying the paintings and techniques of the 17th Century Dutch Painters.
Over the years Raymond has mastered the still life painting and is admired worldwide for his style. He has even exhibited at the Royal Academy now 4 times.
We have been selling Raymond's work now for almost 20 years. Back in 2004 we had a very successful exhibition where Raymond attended so that we could finally get a chance to meet him and chat to him. At the exhibition, my daughter (who was 13) said he reminded her of Hagrid from Harry Potter, with his long hair, big coat and over 6 foot tall. Over the years we have developed a friendship with him and we enjoy talking to him on the phone and seeing which artworks he is working on next.
A couple of years ago we mentioned the Edinburgh Tram to Raymond on one of our many phone calls. He ended up painting the famous "TramBuster" paining which was in all the local newspapers.
